I am hoping to go into labour today - August 16. Sixteen is such a pretty number. Plus, I feel absolutely enormous, and until you've experienced what I call 'the waiting game', it's hard to explain how at every moment you have a false contraction (or as my hypnobirthing teacher likes to say 'practice contraction') you're left wondering, is this it? Equally matched by the disappointment of another false alarm. I would say I also receive upwards of 10 txt messages/emails a day asking if the baby has been born - I should probably just set a Facebook status. I am also feeling enormous, my husband very affectionately finds this quite amusing, he reassures me I will at some point look normal again. He is taking great pleasure in resting all manor of objects on my belly, including sunglasses.
Speaking of sunglasses, I'm looking forward to summer (hence the hat), I'll be taking the baby to the beach, where it will be read lots of books (courtesy of friends, family and my husband - who loves reading to the baby even now).
The red quilt has famous nursery rhymes on it, made by my very clever and gifted friend Gina. It will be the perfect thing to lie the baby down on - so precious.
